It comes as no surprise that flexibility is a key priority for flexible packaging leaders LasX® and Karlville, a USA-, Europe-, and Asia-based company specializing in converting and packaging machinery solutions. Through a new OEM relationship, LasX will integrate its laser and software technology into Karlville's converting machinery, maximizing their ability to deliver innovative features to flexible packaging customers worldwide. "Our strategic partnership enables LasX, Karlville, and Karlville's partner company Web Control to scale manufacturing of our exceptional laser processing solutions to customers in multiple locations around the world," said LasX's CEO William Dinauer.

As the flexible packaging market continues to evolve, Karlville is confident that LasX's laser technology is the right move for its machinery. "Across our main product lines which include machinery for slitting, lamination, shrink sleeves, and pouches, we have seen an increased demand for easy-open and breathable features and other unique requirements where lasers are the most effective solution," said Karlville's President John Price. Mr. Dinauer confirms the company's expertise in delivering customized easy-open packaging, micro-holes for breathable packaging, perforations for shrink sleeve removal, and cutting product windows in paper packaging. "LasX’s laser design is based on flexible laser processing where one machine can create multiple laser features, versus competitors that deliver narrow laser solutions with limited flexibility forcing customers to purchase additional machines to accommodate new features," said Dinauer.

Even better, LasX's sister company LaserSharp® FlexPak Services provides the capacity for Karlville and Web Control to develop and test laser solutions to validate the process and ensure maximum customer satisfaction. "To meet the demands of our customers, we felt the need to find a partner for lasers with strong technical and process experience, and a dedicated service and support team in both USA and Europe. With this partnership finalized, we now feel 100% confident that we can deliver first-class integrated laser solutions to the global market," concluded Price.

Interested customers can visit Karlville at the world's largest label and packaging printing trade show Labelexpo Europe to learn more about their strategic partnership with LasX (Stand 8A54). Labelexpo Europe runs from September 24-27 in Brussels, Belgium.
