Laser finishing meets robotic part handling for increased productivity.

The LaserSharp® Spider STP combines the versatility and precision of laser finishing with automated robotic part handling. This on-demand digital finishing solution seamlessly integrates into your manufacturing workflow to accommodate both high volume orders and shorter, more cost-effective runs. Eliminate the constraints of metal dies with this flexible digital finishing system, capable of processing variable data on the fly. The LaserSharp® Spider STP is a fully automated laser system designed to offer high quality laser die cutting of complex, personalized, and nested shapes while matching digital printing speeds. The LaserSharp® Spider STP is ideal for commercial print applications such as greeting cards, stationery, folding cartons, business cards, and promotional materials, and more.

The efficient LaserSharp® Spider STP allows for continuous processing, resulting in faster, more cost-effective runs while yielding a high quality finished product. Utilizing barcode registration and enhanced software controls, the LaserSharp® Spider STP offers the flexibility to precisely cut, score, perforate, or etch variable nested shapes in a single production run. The automated part handling system uses a high-speed robot to efficiently stack, sort, rotate and/or shingle each finished part. These features are particularly beneficial for job queue manufacturing that requires multiple processing speeds. The system is adaptable to either inline or offline digital finishing configurations and can process sheet sizes up to 22" wide.

Feature

Benefit

Job queuing and variable pattern identification

Barcode readers are used to read printed barcodes on the material, which identify and load upcoming parts. This allows for automatic pattern changeover on the fly. Job queues display upcoming parts for reference and allow the user to change the processing order on the production floor.

Registration and vision systems

Sensors and vision cameras trigger and match laser processing capabilities to registration marks or printed features, yielding unparalleled accuracy and superior registration to print.

Material Size

Accommodates sheet sizes up to 355 mm x 600 mm (14" x 22")

Material Handling Options

The Spider STP offers the ability to integrate sheet-fed or roll-fed material handling options.

Laser Power

Output power options include 400 and 1,000 watts.

Application Variety

Applications include greeting cards, brochures, business cards, folding cartons, personalized stationery, direct mail, point-of-purchase signs, and other printed products.

Material Range

Process a wide variety of papers (smooth, textured, cover, text), adhesives, polyester, acrylics, vellum, and textiles with ease.
